On June 20, 2017, Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Qingdao Free Trade Port Zone signed Cooperation Framework Agreement on “One Belt and One Road Free Trade Station”, marking the official opening of One Belt and One Road Free Trade Station in Hunan.
According to the agreement, both parties will jointly establish “One Belt and One Road Free Trade Station” through giving full play of their location features, combining policies and functional advantages, regarding enterprises as main bodies, guided by market and cooperating with related functional zones in border port regions and provinces and cities along One Belt and One Road.
At present, Qingdao Qianwan Free Trade Port Zone has signed cooperation framework agreement on joint construction of “One Belt and One Road Free Trade Station” with five pilot free trade zones, nearly 20 provinces, autonomous regions (Construction Corps), municipalities directly under the central government and municipalities under the state plan, and nearly 30 pilot national free trade zones and special customs inspection zones.
Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone, as the hometown of Chairman Mao and a height of opening-up, was approved in September 2013, and put into operation in April 2015. It is located at the center of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region, with convenient location and complete water, land and air three-dimensional transportation system, linking Hong Kong through Hong Kong-Hunan Express Train and Hunan-Europe Express Train, and connecting main cities in Uzbekistan, Russia and German. It river-ocean combined transport and airport transport have become increasing complete and mature.
