The 2020 Economic Work and Safe Production Work Meeting was held on March 9, 2020, in which Huang Ren, Deputy Secretary of Party Work Committee and Director of Management Committee of Xiangtan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Secretary of Party Work Committee and Director of Management Committee of Xiangtan CBZ announced the major economic indicators of Xiangtan CBZ in 2020. The major economic indicators include: the income of technology industry and trade is RMB19.07 billion, with 10% year-on-year growth. The total industrial output is RMB2.74 billion, with 7.8% year-on-year growth. The amount of investment reaches RMB319 million, presenting a year-on-year growth of 13%. The import and export volume reaches USD1.028 billion, with 17% year-on-year growth. The actual domestic investment reaches RMB100 million, realizing 12% year-on-year growth. Those indicate Xiangtan CBZ’ ambition to rank top among comprehensive bonded zones of Hunan Province.
Yang Yingjie, Deputy Mayor of Xiangtan Municipal People’s Government, Xu Chengjun, Director of Shaoshan Customs Authority, customs officers, officers of Xiangtan CBZ, heads of Tax Bureau and Market Supervision and Administration of Xiangtan Economic and Technological Development Zone, heads of relevant departments of Management Committee of Xiangtan CBZ and Shaoshan Customs Authority, all staff of Management Committee of Xiangtan CBZ and representatives of settlement enterprises and construction enterprises attended the meeting which was presided over by Bao Xuqi, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Xiangtan CBZ.
As the saying goes, “Time and tide wait for no man, and God help those who help themselves.” Xiangtan CBZ is a window of opening-up and export-oriented economy development in Xiangtan and even in Hunan Province. In 2019, its income of technology industry and trade was RMB17.34 billion, with 4.3% year-on-year growth. The total industrial output was RMB2.54 billion, with 5.4% year-on-year growth. The amount of investment reached RMB282 million. The import and export volume reached USD0.878 billion, and the actual domestic investment reached RMB900 million which equaled to 114% of the task (RMB800 million) assigned by the Xiangtan Municipal Commercial Affairs Bureau. The economic structure of Xiangtan CBZ has been optimized and upgraded, the business types have been enriched, the platform functions have been improved, the business environment has been improved, and the reform and self-improvement have been strengthened and improved.
Huang Ren has great expectations and confidence for 2020. He said “2020 is the last year of the 13th Five-year Plan, the opening year of the 14th Five-year Plan, a decisive year for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and a crucial year for the comprehensive upgrading and development of Xiangtan CBZ.” Based on the “integrated development” of Xiangtan Economic and Technological Zone and Comprehensive CBZ, with the industry direction of “One Major and Two Supporting Industries” (i.e. setting toy industry as a major industry, and food and drug processing and electronic information industry as supporting industries), Xiangtan CBZ strives to build five platforms (industry cluster platform, enterprise service platform, warehousing and logistics platform, bonded research and development exhibition and sales platform and cross-border e-commerce platform), greatly promotes two supporting facilities (commercial supporting facility, living supporting facility), and creates a new pattern of integrated development within and outside the network. Xiangtan CBZ will steadily promote the economic work, and pay close attention to safe production work. Huang Ren points out that it is crucial to continue to consolidate the existing results, tighten safe production, do a good job in epidemic prevention and control, avoid fluke mind, safeguard bottom line, and attach great importance to making sure that measures are implemented and work is detailed on the basis of “zero confirmed case” and “zero infection” to guarantee smooth and steady economic operation, without any problem.
Yang Yingjie gives high recognition to the achievements made by Xiangtan CBZ, hope all relevant parties pay close attention to work implementation, raise awareness of potential dangers, improve professional competence, and make substantial breakthroughs in keeping bottom line, maintaining objectives, carrying out projects, optimizing services and creating highlights.
